Step 2: Don’t water
cactus for three years
Step 3: Take cactus on a road trip across the country - place in the cupholder next to your husband
Step 4: Suddenly
remember that cacti need water more than once every three years
Step 5: Make up for
three years of watering in three days
Step 6: Ignore the rational suggestions your husband makes
Step 7: Delude yourself with the thought: more water equals cooler, more-awesome cactus
Step 8: Drench cactus
Step 9: Continue to ignore your husband's rational suggestions
Step 10: Wait one month,
then drench cactus a final time
Step 11: Pack up
cactus for another road trip
Step 12: Realize, as you place the cactus into the cupholder, that its insides have completely rotted away
Step 13: Experience the stages of grief in approximately thirty seconds - dwell on the steps involving denial and accusations
Step 14: Allow your far-too-cheery husband to throw away the rotted cactus

you killed our cactus? we bought that together.... so sad.... well i guess i never liked cacti anyway... i have a plant now that i get to water every wednesday--you remember that plant? it's still living can you believe it? we've had some pretty close calls... but if I keep my bottled water by it, it eventually get's watered... you should get one of those...
ReplyDeleteThat was such a good/sad story. Jameson always says that I never water our cactus enough, well I'll show him this as proof and he'll never say anything again!
